Meet Our Audiology Team
I am Dr. Sarah Binfet and I have been a Doctor of Audiology for 10 years. I proudly served Veterans at the Minneapolis VA for nearly 9 years. Blaine Hearing Center was established in 2013 in conjunction with my husband's optometric practice, so together we can offer comprehensive care for both hearing and vision. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to learn from and practice with Dr. Wendy Davis and am honored that she selected me to be the new owner of SoundGate Hearing Clinic. I am committed to her standards of patient care and customer service. I truly love what I do and feel that helping people hear is critical to their quality of life.
I am passionate about helping people hear better and improving their quality of life. I believe in creating a welcoming and supportive environment in which the patient can be educated on their hearing loss, hearing aid options, and how to have the best success with their hearing aids.
I am committed to offering my patients the most up to date digital hearing aid technology, which is why I carry a full line of manufacturers. There is no one right hearing aid for everyone. It is my job to help my patients navigate the complex works of hearing aids and decide on which products best meet their needs, goals and budget.
A Minnesotan through and through, I was raised in Eden Prairie, MN, received my undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and my Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Minnesota. When not at work, you will find me cooking, hitting up the newest restaurants and fitting in as much yoga as possible. During the weekend, you will find my husband Rodney and me with our two small kiddos, Evelyn and Jake, loving the outdoors at our family cabin on Leech Lake.
Katherine Teece Au.D
My name is Dr. Katherine (Kate) Teece, and I have been an audiologist since 2008. What gets me up in the morning is the opportunity to restore impaired communication between family members. My work allows me to combine patient-centered counseling with cutting edge technology. Hearing loss has a personal connection to me, as well. I had chronic ear infections as a child, and my grandfather has been a successful hearing aid user for decades. In fact, years before I joined the practice, I referred my own relatives to SoundGate!
Prior to joining SoundGate in 2016, I practiced at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I was honored to learn from exceptional colleagues and complex medical cases. I spent five years in the Hearing Aid Program and two years in the Cochlear Implant Facility.
I was raised in St. Paul, earned a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College, and completed my Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sarah Binfet and I met during graduate school, and I'm very excited to be working with her again!
My husband Scott and I were married in 2005, and our son Simon recently started kindergarten. I have a terrible sweet tooth, especially for chocolate! When I’m not busy with either home or work, I enjoy many hobbies including: hiking, boating, travel, volunteering, family dinners, and relaxing with a good book and warm coffee.
Hannah joined SoundGate in August of 2016 after graduating from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE, with a degree in Health Information. Hannah believes in the importance of good quality care and she enjoys playing her part behind the scenes to help make that possible. She wants every patient to walk out more comfortable and satisfied than when they came in.
She grew up in Blaine, MN, and is happy to be back in the twin cities again. When she’s not at work, she likes to spend time with her nieces and nephews, keeping up her “favorite aunt” persona.
